Looking Into The Innovative PSP Go Features
The most recent incarnation of Sony's gaming portables is PSP Go, made public in Q4 of 2009 at the E3 expo. The PSP Go features are noticeably different to previous machines in the line, and come together to supply a stylish and practical alternative to the regular series.
The initial, and likely most talked about, of the PSP Go features to vary from older models is the absence of a UMD drive. Previous models have made use of this media avenue for both gaming and movies, but the PSP Go gets rid of it completely. As an alternative, Sony want all software for the PSP Go to be downloaded onto the sixteen GB of internal memory. This revolutionary ploy will be allowed by the PS store, which is building a massive catalogue of games and movies to be supplied on the PSP Go features.
The formerly mentioned 16 GB of memory is flash based, and is free to be maxed to 32 GB by the memory stick micro. This PSP Go feature delivers a vast stock of memory so gamers will not be stumped for room. The screen has been slightly reduced since the PSP 3000, but presents a much sharper display at 480x272 pixels. The screen shelf is slipped upwards to reveal the buttons and d-pad, which also includes an analogue stick.
The PSP Go retains all the fundamental features of its original, including wi-fi functioning and connectivity to the PS store both on its own or through a PS3. Sony are aiming to make all prior UMDs accessible through the store, and game players can also access 'Minis', a fresh range of cheaper games from classic ranges such as Megaman and Tetris.
And so there's a brief introduction to the PSP Go features. The machine retains the classic feel and specs of the progenitor, whilst presenting a fresh new finish and leading edge media capacities. Sony have asserted that solely downloading games is the dream for all games in the future, and so the PSP Go is leading the way for a fresh step in gaming history.
