I just bought a new inspiron 580
to replace my old dimension 8400.
i took the old monitor from my 8400 and discovered my new cpu had only one input. so i took the old video card from the 8400 (NVidia Quadro NVS 285 DMS-59 64MB Full Height PCI Express Video Card)
and placed it in a pci slot.the video card came with another vga slot that i plugged the second monitor into. when i go to display>adjust resolution>it wont identify the other monitor.
im thinking it may have something to do with the drivers. pls help
is there anyway for me to download the drivers without the disk? like downloading it online
i tried doing what rudolph said and it didnt show up on the list.
maybe i didnt put in the card right? i put it in nice and snug. it was my first time today opening up a pcu.
is it not recognizing it?
If you have the CD (drivers) for the Nvidia card install the drivers. if not then right click on My computer, and select properties. click on hardware then device manger. Display Adaptor will be open with a yellow mark next to it. right click on it and update drivers. follow the prompts and it should work.
