I have a dell inspiron 1525 and it has an express card slot.
well, i need a better video card so i can run pcsx2 better, and i was wondering which is cheaper: Buying a new card and putting it on the inside (if i can even do that) or getting an express card video card (if they make them)

Installing an internal video card in a laptop that isn't still lying wide open on the factory floor isn't really feasible - I don't know anyone that would be willing or able to do the work.
As far as an ExpressCard video card, I'll give you this spiel directly from the developers at ExpressCard.org:
"3. Does a video accelerator ExpressCard module exist?
No, we do not expect that a stand-alone ExpressCard graphics accerlerator will be developed in the near term. Although the PCI Express x1 lane used in the ExpressCard interface is fast enough for substantial graphics acceleration, graphics accelerators currently require more board space than even an ExpressCard/54 module provides, more power than the ExpressCard slot can provide and produce more heat than an ExpressCard module can safely dissipate. We do expect to see ExpressCard modules which allow the addition of second (or even third or more) monitors to your system, although the level of graphics peformance on an external monitor will likely be best suited for office applications.
However, it is possible to achieve graphics acceleration using an ExpressCard slot. Using a PCI Express expansion chassis, a standard PCI Express graphics accelerator card can be utilized to allow game-level 3D graphics (to an external monitor) even if your notebook came with low-end internal video support. Due to the fact that there is not a simple path back to the internal video subsystem, upgrading the graphics capabilities of your built-in monitor is not possible with this type of setup. Graphics upgrade/expansion (to an external monitor) is also available through the ExpressCard slot via Docking Stations."

We don't need to tell you CF is one of the few memory card formats that's
managed to survive the SD tidal wave (remember when you needed Memory Stick to

uses CF, you might be tickled to know its high-speed successor is just about
good to go. The CompactFlash Association said it's finished work on XQD, a
next-gen format that promises faster speeds, along with a smaller footprint
than current-gen CF cards. As for transfer rates, the included PCI Express
interface promises theoretical write speeds as high as 5 Gb/s, though the
association is quick to peg real-world writes at 125 MB/s and up. Still,
that's plenty fast for processing RAW stills and 1080p video, and it's a clear
bump over the 100 MB/s write rates (max) you'll get from today's CF cards. No
word on availability or partnerships, though we know Nikon led XQD's
development, and that Canon endorsed it, so it's safe to say we'll see this in
some major releases sometime after the association starts licensing the
technology in early 2012.
