What is the least expensive way to convert a DVI output to SDI?
i need to find a way to feed 4 DVI outputs (from two dual-monitor cards in one computer) to a professional video switcher that only takes SDI inputs...most of the boxes i find (Gefen, Doremi, etc.) cost between $1-5K...anyone know of a solution that's closer to $500 per channel?
Do you have to use the DVI outputs? Because you can pick up a 4-channel SDI PCI card for about $350, and run the signals out that way. It might require a little creative software engineering to get it going properly, but it would certainly make more a much more cost-effective solution.
